Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's)

Q. The course I need to register for is "Closed." Who do I contact about waiting list(s)?
A. If you are attempting to register for a "Closed" course, please contact the course-offering University to inquire about waiting list(s). A course is marked "closed" as soon as the class limit is reached and/or after the registration deadline is passed.

Q.  How do I apply for Financial Aid/Loans?
A.
Since ACE courses are offered at different Universities at different times, you must contact the University whom you are currently registered with for an ACE course. Please click here for contact information. You may also contact your Home Advisor for further guidance.

Q.  How do I drop a course?
A.
You may drop your course(s) while they are pending by logging into your account at http://acereg.mivu.org. Once your registration is approved, you must contact the University you are registered with. Please click here for more information.

Q. What if I have not yet received my login information for my course(s)?
A.
Please contact the University offering the course. To look up contact information, click here.

Q.I need a transcript of my ACE courses. Who should I contact?
A.
Please contact each individual University that offered the course for a copy of your official transcript. If you are not sure about your course history, please contact the ACE Administrator at acewebmaster@mivu.org.

Q. How do I contact an advisor from one of the home universities?
A.
Each advisor has an email address listed under ACE Contacts. This would be the best way to begin the process.

Q. If a course is offered from more than one of the collaborating universities, will it matter which university I take it from?
A. As long as you are an ACE member and take the courses listed on your approved plan of study it will not matter which of the collaborating universities you take the required courses from.

Q. Can I access and complete the entire endorsement program online?
A.
With the exception of the practicum, all core courses for the endorsement program can be accessed online. Some courses may require field-related work that can be completed locally.

Q. Are there special equipment hardware requirements for the online course?
A.
A detailed description of what is needed can be found on our Computer Requirements page.

Q. Does this endorsement apply to a degree?
A. This will be a decision that is made by the institution in which the degree is being sought.

Q. Can I transfer credits in from a university outside of the collaborative?
A. Courses taken outside of the collaborative may be transferred in by your ACE Home University at the time your Plan of Study is created. All remaining courses are to be completed online through the ACE program.

Q. How are grades given for this endorsement? What about incompletes?
A. Grading, incompletes, drop and adds are handled according to the policy of the institution offering the course.

Q. What is the cost for the courses?
A. The cost is $1,650.00 per course. However tuition may increase depending on senate appropriations to the universities, which is typically determined near the start of the fall semester. If the universities participating in ACE must increase tuition, then ACE tuition will increase as well.

Q. Have the program costs increased?
A. Beginning Fall 2008, the cost for a three credit course will be $1,550. This is a direct result of the increases experienced at all four collaborating universities. Some school districts will reimburse all or some of the costs associated with obtaining an endorsement. Check with your local or intermediate school district for information on their course reimbursement policies.

Q. What do I do if I am billed twice for my course registration?
A. Contact the home university billing department (see the refunds section under General Information on this Web site for billing contact information).
